Deleuze and Guattari Studies in India Collective is committed to initiate and pursue a deeper philosophical engagement with the multifaceted aspects of Indian reality. The four international conferences and workshops organized by the Deleuze and Guattari Studies in India Collective since its inception in 2015 are nothing but a testimony to this critical engagement with the Indian reality. In this endeavor, apart from the conferences and workshops, we are also committed to consolidate the research on various aspects of Indian society, culture, art, cinema and literature from the vantage point of Deleuze and Guattari. Our research publications, the special issue of Deleuze and Guattari Studies journal and the edited volumes (two forthcoming volumes) are important interventions in this regard.

This year, we are quite glad to announce a lecture series on a novel theme, ‘Diagrams and Civilizations’, which makes use of a potential conceptual category of diagram, a  Foucault-Deleuzian concept,  to explore the nuances of various civilizations and its interconnections. This is scheduled to start in the beginning of the academic year 2022.  The first lecture will be on the theme “Deleuze, Guattari and the invention of the ‘Indian diagram’ “.
